ECC Winter CourseThe 12 Constitutional Exercises of Eurythmy Therapy |
Fresh and Healthy Through the Winter
The Secret of the Middle
Online course from 30 November 2025 to 7 February 2026
With Theodor Hundhammer, founder of Eurythmy4you
Warm invitation to a complete journey through the 12 Constitutional Exercises of Eurythmy Therapy, given by Rudolf Steiner for the rhythmic system and especially for developing the etheric heart.
These 12 Constitutional Exercises are a brilliant response to the new challenges of our time. Each exercise strengthens—in its own way—the play of polarities of head, heart and hands, and your connection with yourself and your surroundings. In this way you support your immune system, your resilience, and your joy in life.
- Strengthen breathing
- Strengthen the heart
- Warm and enliven the circulation
- Relieve headaches
- Soothe the abdomen
- Harmonise the centre
The movement sequences are simple and quick to learn; their effectiveness comes from the inner activity with which you do them. We learn, repeat and explore the sequences together and in small groups.
We will also look into the background of these exercises. Together we will explore why these exercises are a path from below upwards, how they work physiologically, what path the soul takes as you do them, and how they relate to the zodiac.
If you practise on your own between the meetings, you will feel how your inner freshness and health grow, how breathing, heart and centre are strengthened, and how a capacity for resonance arises that we so urgently need today.
The course has two parts.
First, the path leads into depth. From exercise to exercise it guides the soul down into the inner body—from our waking consciousness and dreaming feeling to the knee bend and arriving in the abdominal area. This movement inwards, right to the region of birth, is a wonderful companion through Advent. It helps us not only to become healthier and fresher, but also to meet our own inner birth in mood. Therefore the meetings take place in the days before the first, second and third Sundays of Advent.
During the Holy Nights we take a pause, in which each person can look back on the past year and look ahead to the coming year, and explore and listen to the connection with themselves.
Together with the rising sun the second part leads from within to the forces of the heart. We step out, open to meeting others and learn to experience ourselves in the other. This is the deepest form of strengthening—physiologically as harmonising of breathing, heart and the autonomic system, and in the soul as a path to inner calm, warmth and connection.
How we work
In this course personal practice and shared exploration go hand in hand. If you join, you should be ready to really practise yourself and bring your experiences—because true understanding arises in your own doing.
Structure of the meetings
In the first meeting Theodor explains the structure and connections of the exercises—what matters in the movement and in the inner experience, and how their effects can unfold. Then one or two exercises are presented, which we try out together.
- The following meetings begin with a short exchange in pairs: you repeat the exercises together, share your experiences and collect questions.
- Questions are written in the chat and then explored by Theodor and linked with new impulses.
- At the end of the meeting Theodor shows the next exercises for you to work with in the coming week.
Self-practice during the week
- You receive detailed materials with movement instructions, inner aspects and physiological background. This lets you explore and deepen each exercise in your own time.
- The replays are available to download for 1 week. If there are simultaneous translations, these can also be downloaded.
- Through the ECC forum you can find partners to exchange with. On request we also provide Zoom rooms for practising together.
This creates a varied learning rhythm of personal practice, shared reflection and inspiring exchange.

A small preview for those interested in philosophy
Rudolf Steiner describes the twelve Constitutional Exercises as
- acting from the soul,
- working via the “detour” of the etheric body,
- working right into the innermost of the organs.
In the course we will mainly practise and make our own experiences. At the same time we will discover what these statements mean—and how you can put them into practice in a completely natural way.
