Questions about the U exercises
A3 Raying through the U gesture
- How do you experience the heart space and the space behind?
- Do you fear losing yourself?
- Does it have a border? If so, how does it feel? Transparent, breathing?
- Do you have the feeling of being anchored in your heart in forming the U?
- Can your U form itself by streaming through from far behind?
- How does that affect your breath? Do you hold it? Does it stream freely or order itself into the exercise in another manner?
- What helps you in raying through the arms?
- Do you correct the position by e.g. drawing the elbows in a bit and then raying through the arms?
- Or do you do it more with your soul or heart by contracting yourself in the chest region and raying through the arms from there in order to bring them into the stretched position?
D3 U with bent knees
- Now that forming U with the legs is already known, what happens when you simultaneously stream down with the arms. Do the depths gain a different meaning?
- Is bending the knees a side-effect of anchoring the arms or do you experience it as a separate, second, independent part of the exercise?
- Do you have to pay a lot of attention to the anchoring and staying anchored in the arms? Does it require a particular activity or does it happen by itself?
- What does the contradiction, of remaining anchored in the arms and straightening the legs in becoming upright, do to you? Does a congestion come about or does a space open? How would you describe it?
- What do you pay attention to in stretching the legs? Is streaming together in the legs a help?
- What do you notice in the pause? In your body and in your soul?
E3 The heavens in me: Carried from without – supported from within
- This exercise has four parts: From your centre you move down and forwards, then towards behind and above; then you bring right and left together and bring them down from above.
Which part do you particularly like?
On which would you like to do more work?
- In the course of the exercise you come into contact with many different zones. Below, above, in front, behind, left and right.
Is your centre always present?
Do you initiate the movements from your centre? - Do you have experiences that are more focused on the body and its regions or on the streams? What do you do in your soul? Can you differentiate and describe these experiences?
- When focusing your attention on your body’s movements and simultaneously become aware of the surroundings (e.g. A rainbow between your hands, a star above you,….) what perceptions do you have? Do you have experiences that could for instance be expressed in feeling, colour, images, sounds etc.?
- Do you have the feeling that your equilibrium is strengthened by practicing? How is your breath? What after-effects do you notice?
