What is this course about?
In artistic eurythmy—except for humorous eurythmy—the legs do not express language but add to the overall expression through the quality of the step, its rhythm, and the forms created in space.
Eurythmy therapy has a different aim. This is where leg movements come in, performed independently or accompanying arm movements, especially when doing consonants. This can involve simple bending and stretching, specific stepping patterns, or a wide variety of jumps.
An obvious objective of eurythmy therapy is to connect the upper nerve/sense system, associated with arm movements, with the lower metabolic/limb system, related to the belly and legs.
But when eurythmy therapy sound gestures together with their leg movements and the corresponding zodiac gestures are placed together, they can be experienced at an even deeper level of our being, as expressions of will.
Join us on this journey!
What you will learn:
- Explore different ways to perform leg movements meaningfully, connect them with arm movements, and study Rudolf Steiner’s insights on their therapeutic applications.
- Experience how these movements enhance body awareness and directly impact etheric qualities, organs, and areas needing stimulation.
- Hear about practical experiences in applying these exercises to adults and children.
- Engage in discussions with fellow participants by sharing first-hand insights, and gain inner confidence.
- Understand how eurythmy zodiac gestures are not static but arise and are enlivened through their interconnection.
- Experience the communication between consonants, leg movements and zodiac gestures.
What this course will NOT teach:
- This course will NOT qualify you as a therapist.
- You will NOT receive enough knowledge to treat or make suggestions for others.
What you should NOT do:
- Treatment of others is strictly limited to trained eurythmy therapists.
- We strongly advise against applying what you learn to others or yourself without professional guidance.
What might happen to you:
- You might feel inspired to pursue further training in eurythmy therapy and become a therapist yourself.
- Check out training opportunities here.
